The oft-mentioned goals of Outdoor Education are to enhance the understanding of self, others and the environment. The Allegany Grade 10 Trip, September 19th to 21st, exemplified all three. Teamwork and self-work were consistently noted by all participants and the environmental connections were constant. Embracing the water during an early morning dip, struggling against strong winds in canoes, watching the waxing moon sink in the west and seeing the Milky Way take topcenter stage - there was never an indoor-outdoor separation.
