New Learning Possibilities from A Shared Learning Site, The Chesonis Commona

When the middle school Design Elective Class attempted to create a hot air balloon that would rise with a self-contained heat system, they were unaware that several weeks before Grade Two students had undertaken a related experiment. Both efforts were successful and instructive for participants, but a key learning opportunity was missed to have the older students mentor the younger ones as well as learn from what they had discovered themselves. The new building space will be the first N-12 workspace in the school. What one class is doing will be continually on display in the large shared workshop area. This will provide Harley with an important new way to integrate learning throughout the grade levels. A capsule view of Grade Two's experiment is below:

On Tuesday, electrical sub-contractors came and dug a trench for the electrical wires. The previous power supply was under where the foundation of the barn will be and needed to be moved.
