November 26, 2012 - Ground is broken for the 'living building' that will be the heart of The Chesonis Commons

December 5, 2012

Middle School students attended an Upper School assembly to learn more about what the new building will provide for students at all grade levels. Harley administrators and teachers,(Valerie Myntti, Larry Frye, Seth O'Bryan and Chris Hartman) briefly shared information about the history of the project as well as the new opportunities that will arise beginning September 2013 when the facility will open. Students are starting to work with faculty and staff to explore the options in the areas of environmental and citizen science, civic engagement, mindfulness and empathy education as well as
design thinking and creating that will become possible via the new space and technology that the building will provides.
Short clips of this presentation are below:

The Harley Green Pages is dedicated to showcasing the activities undertaken at The Harley School that concern both the social and environmental efforts and goals related to sustainability. With a special emphasis on Citizen Science, it offers community members a chance to share information related to these issues whether they are well established, under development or linger in dreams. Please feel free to browse during the construction process.
